Pour absinthe (40 ml) into a champagne glass. Add ice-cold champagne until it reaches the desired opalescent milkiness.
Interesting fact
Death in the Afternoon is a cocktail of absinthe and champagne invented by writer Ernest Hemingway. The name comes from his book Death in the Afternoon, first published in a cocktail book in 1935.
