Interesting fact
The drink was first prepared by a bartender at London's Brooks's Club in 1861 to commemorate the death of Prince Albert, Prince Consort of Queen Victoria. This is supposed to be symbolized by the black bracelets worn by mourners. They said that “even champagne should be mournful.”
