Sansigot - only 3 winemakers in the world produce wine from this grape.
This red wine represents a unique aspect of Croatia's viticultural heritage. “Sansigot” or “Sušćan crni” is the name of the indigenous grape variety originally from the island of Susak, now grown in Vrbnik.
This wine, with a medium alcohol content, is produced from grapes from the old vineyard on the western slopes as well as from the new one, situated on “Krasina”, the land obtained by melioration of karst.
TASTING NOTES
Sansigot is deeply red colored wine with aromas of blackberry, cloves, cinnamon, chocolate and black pepper.
It is a complex wine with fine woody tannins and a full-bodied character. Its flavors are rich, intense with a long aftertaste. Dry wine with well balanced alcohol and acids.
Decanting is recommended.
